Georgia is a small country in the Caucasus, surrounded on the north by Russia, on the east by Azerbaijan, on the south by Armenia and Turkey, and on the west by the Black Sea. Georgia is at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, and the Great Silk Road once passed through the country. It has a very important geo-political location connecting East to West. Georgia is a Christian country (adopted in the 4th century). The population is mostly Georgian orthodox, but other religious affiliations have traditionally had a presence here. A mythic place, Georgia is the land of Colchis where Jason found the Golden Fleece and fell in love with Medea .  We kindly invite you to visit Georgia, the country famous for its hospitality, fabulous feasting traditions, ancient history and great cultural heritage. Georgia is known as home country of the wine. The earliest archaeological evidence of wine production yet found has been at sites in Georgia  6000 C. BC. Georgia's traditional winemaking method of    fermenting  grapes in earthenware, egg-shaped vessels has been added to the world heritage list of the UNESCO. Georgia has an ancient alphabet. It is one of the fourteen scripts around the world. Georgian traces of ancient writing can be found on the inscriptions are in the territory of architectural monuments. One of the most popular legends the Georgian will tell you is about the God who was distributing lands to the different nations. Of course, Georgians came late because they were feasting - drinking toasts to the God- and so Georgians missed their turn. So the God gave them what was left the land which he had kept for himself! You will be told many legends and toasts during Georgian feasting (Supra) and we can assure you will enjoy all of them.
